Snowy Owls
In Snowy Owls class we have 6 pupils and 3 members of staff. Our pupils are in Year 3 and follow our Shared Pathway.
We prioritise working on our communication and self-regulation within our curriculum and during play. We aim to teach our curriculum in a nurturing, fun, engaging and creative way to build on attention and engagement levels and promote a love of learning.
Our foundation curriculum is delivered through the Attention Autism intervention, whilst our English lessons feature sensory stories, fine motor activities, and colourful semantics. Every child follows our Romans Field Curriculum, which is personalised to their individual learning goals.
Snowy Owls follow a total communication approach which is about finding and using the right combination of communication methods for each child. This approach allows individuals with communication difficulties to communicate in the most accessible way to them. We also offer a range of interventions, such as: TACPAC, Teacch, Intensive Interaction and Speech and Language interventions.

Autumn Term 1 Summary
Snowy Owls have been learning all about ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’ this term in Writing. We have immersed ourselves in the story through arts and crafts, role playing and sensory stories. Snowy Owls have worked on their fine motor and writing skills through different activities linked to our story.
In Maths, we have worked on numbers and recognising different representations of numbers using a variety of resources. We looked at making patterns, how to repeat different patterns and have also started to make patterns and pictures with different shapes working on shape recognition.
Our foundation curriculum has been delivered through Attention Autism, we have created many crafts for our different topics, Amazing Me and Great Fire of London. Snowy Owls have enjoyed exploring different musical instruments and the sounds they make.
Snowy Owls have had the opportunity to play turn taking games and interact with their peers through playing with different toys, we will continue building relationships across the year!
