School Meals
My name is Mr Birdsey and I will be helping out in the Catering Team for a little while bringing over 15 years of experience in the restaurant industry with me.
I have been asked to produce a new menu to freshen up and add variety, using seasonal ingredients and to standardise our meals across the federation. It is important to us that children are getting the correct nutrition and developing a love for new tastes and above all else are getting excited for lunchtime!
We are very excited to start serving our new Spring/Summer menu after the February half term.
Please ensure you are ordering your child's lunches at least 1 week in advance.
Breakfast
All children regardless of whether they pay for school meals are provided with breakfast each morning they can choose from:
Bagels
Toast
Cereal / Porridge
Fruit
Tea, Juice
and on Friday's everyone is offered a hot breakfast roll.
Snack Time
Every child has a snack time in the mornings to recharge their batteries, they are able to choose from:
Fresh Fruit
Homemade Greek yoghurt with either honey or fresh fruit coulis
Biscuits
Raisins.
Birthdays
We celebrate every child's birthday by baking them their own special cake. Don't worry we don't leave the staff out and the children also get to join in when it's time to celebrate their special day.
Lunch Selection and Payment
Each day the children have a choice of a main meal, a vegetarian option, sandwich or jacket potato plus a dessert. We are very committed to encouraging and helping children to make healthy choices and therefore we also offer salad and fresh fruit.
How do I place an order?
Whether you pay or qualify for free school meals, simply log into your ParentMail account and go the the Accounts section, click onto school dinners, click on each day to view and select your choice.
*Please remember all dinners must be pre-ordered by the Wednesday for the following week, Thank you.
Information on Free School Meals
We have recently put in place a new Free School Meals Application System as Milton Keynes Council are no longer responsible for processing the applications.
With a Single Application your child’s eligibility can be tracked throughout their time at Romans Field School, therefore each student irrespective of whether they are currently in receipt of Free School Meals can make an application via the website https://www.cloudforedu.org.uk/ofsm/sims.
The system is quick and simple to use and can be accessed via a smartphone or hand held device. All applications are sent directly to the school.
Please register online, even if you have applied and been unsuccessful in the past. By doing so we will have your contact details and can inform you straight away if your eligibility changes.
