Romans Field School

Building Success Together - to help us all become the best version of ourselves.

Curriculum map

The topic curriculum map shows what the topic the children will be learning about in either History or Geography each half term.

A high-quality history education will help pupils gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain’s past and that of the wider world. It should inspire pupils’ curiosity to know more about the past. Teaching should equip pupils to ask perceptive questions, think critically, weigh evidence, sift arguments, and develop perspective and judgement. History helps pupils to understand the complexity of people’s lives, the process of change, the diversity of societies and relationships between different groups, as well as their own identity and the challenges of their time. Our curriculum at Romans Field school is underpinned by our vision ‘Building success together- to help us all become the best version of ourselves’. It is organised through topics which subjects are taught. This document helps us to plan and assess for progression within our topics and is based upon The National Curriculum which is available through the following link: https://www.gov.uk/national-curriculum

Lessons focus on high quality learning of the essential key knowledge and skills needed to become successful, confident, motivated learners who achieve high standards and become responsible citizens.
